There is a plant named a mandrake... Yes, it really exists not only in ancient books and legends, which claim it has some magic power. Well, for us a mandrake is just a poisonous plant, but in the Middle Ages the Europeans considered it a strong love amulet, though they were not sure about purity of its origin. The belief in a mandrake as a fertility potion base was especially strong.
And now imagine - there is an elderly husband, who wants children very much; there is a young wife, who cannot become pregnant; and there is a young man, desperately in love with the married beauty. All you need to make everyone happy and satisfied is two sly fellows and... a root of mandrake.
The director, Davide Giovanzana, an Italian by origin and a judge of the tradition of commedia del arte, promises a many-sided (and temperamental) theatrical experiment.
