On a summer evening, two people meet on a park bench: a woman with the symbolic name Vera (faith) and a man who feels cramped within the confines of his own biography. A light flirtation quickly develops into a sharp dialogue, leading the characters to unexpected discoveries and even more unexpected revelations. Will this meeting be the key to the happiness that he and she have been looking for for so long?
An almost detective melodrama with notes of tragicomedy unfolds in a bouquet of vivid emotions and feelings - from anger to tenderness, from suffering to delight, from despair to hope.
"The heroes of this play will certainly be sitting in the auditorium," says director Sergey Golomazov, "because this story resonates with the experience of many of us. The story of two people, whose lives did not turn out the way they would have liked - both professionally and personally. People with a difficult fate, with failed loves, with unanswered questions. In a sense, our performance is a continuation of Gogol's theme of declaring love for the "little man". This is an attempt by the theatrer to give hope to those who have lost it."
