Today beauty is not a luxury but a necessity. At least, advertising says so. However, not only models get married, so parents seek a right “other” for their "child". Well, neither Yakish nor his bride Poopche can be called strikingly beautiful, to put it mildly, but they do want the same - warmth, love and children.
So the wedding takes place. But marital happiness does not come to the young couple: Yakish can’t see Poopche as his dream-woman. That’s why the kinsmen interfere…
Hanoch Levin, a poet and playwright, a classic of contemporary Israeli drama, created a wonderful piece: lyrical, subtle, somewhat sad, but funny and optimistic.
